The Challenge
Alloway Timber, a building supply chain serving Southwest London and Surrey in the United Kingdom, had been experiencing an increase in losses due to internal and external theft for several years. “It had been increasing gradually over the last three or four years and was excessive,” said Managing Director Joe Alloway. A state-of-the-art digital video recording system was deemed necessary to reverse the trend.

The Solution
Alloway dropped in to see security systems integrator Onwatch Plc and “was taken aback by how far the technology and the March Networks system in particular had advanced.” Other systems were evaluated, but March Networks technology was selected based on ease of use, reliability and long-term value.In the first few months of service, senior management at Alloway Timber had video evidence of several incidents that would have gone undetected by the retailer’s outdated CCTV system.
